Several extended-release metformin products were recalled for nitrosamine (NDMA) impurities — the same class of contaminant behind the blood-pressure recalls. Others are ordinary manufacturing or potency issues. Blood-sugar control matters: do not stop a diabetes medicine because of a recall without checking your specific lot against the FDA notice and speaking with your prescriber.
